I believe that our young people's behaviour is always trying to tell us something. Young people often "act out" their feelings, sometimes before they understand them themselves.
I believe that creativity can help young people to express complex feelings without the need to find the right words. This can be helpful for those experiencing emotionally based school avoidance or for young people who are neurodivergent.
Drawing and Talking is a gentle 12 week intervention used across schools in the UK.
In Drawing and Talking a young person has 121 sessions at the same time, and in the same place, each week for 12 weeks. Sessions are 30-minutes and young people are encouraged to draw and also talk about the drawing they create.
